Getting Social Security Disability
Disability is something most people do not like to think about. The chances of your becoming disabled are probably greater than you realize. The Social Security Administration pays cash benefits to people who are unable to perform gainful employment for a year or more because of a disability. Getting social security disability benefits can only be achieved if the person has the determination and patience because the process is not that easy. However once the applicant qualifies, the benefits being received will continue until a person is able to work again on a regular basis, and a number of work incentives are available to ease the transition back to work.
Under the Social Security Act, disability means inability to engage in any substantial gainful activity by reason of any medically determinable physical or mental impairment which can be expected to result in death or has lasted or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than 12 months.
If you have been unable to work due to an illness, or injury, chances are you have considered applying for Social Security Disability benefits. You would probably be eligible getting social security disability benefits. If you are getting Social Security disability benefits you can also continue to receive your benefits when you are able to work as long as your earnings are not more than an amount set by law.
