Social Security Affirms Prompt Payment of Benefits

Washington- The Social Security Administration (SSA) has assured beneficiaries that checks and electronic payments will be issued on time, according to the agency's website.

Reports said Social Security Commissioner Michael Astrue affirmed that allowances to disabled, retirees, and other beneficiaries will be given as scheduled. Checks and electronic payments on August 10th, 17th, and 24th will be paid on time.

The Commissioner said that he is pleased with the President and Congress' decision to continue support on Social Security programs. Astrue assured beneficiaries that Social Security can meet its obligations for the month of August.

SSA alerted Social Security members to safeguard their checks on mail. Astrue reminded current beneficiaries to switch to electronic payments on or before March 1, 2013 to prevent theft cases.
